The statistical procedures pioneered by Aeolus to design cost-effective site investigations capable of supporting risk-based decisions can also be applied to asbestos.  These procedures incorporate the principles of the data quality objective process, which is an EPA  planning tool that facilitates careful matching of the type and quality of data to be generated in an investigation to the manner in which such data are to be evaluated so that decision errors can be minimized and data needs can be specified sufficiently (up front) to support efficient investigation design.

In combination with the methods that Aeolus has also developed for asbestos sampling and analysis and the new protocol for assessing asbestos-related risks, Aeolus offers an integrated approach to conducting quantitative risk assessments for asbestos.
